Three Different Types of Vapes That You Have to Know

Vapes can be divided into various types based on several factors. However, most vapes fall into one of the three main types.

Disposable Vape

A disposable vape is any vape pre-fitted with a vape juice container and has a predictable life span, usually calculated based on the number of puffs it offers. Once the vape juice is fully consumed, the vape is unusable and has to be disposed of. This is one of the most common types of vapes available and one of the first types of vapes/e-cigarettes introduced in the market.

The first commercially successful e-cigarette/vape created by a Chinese pharmacist Hon Lick was a disposable vape. Even now, disposable vapes make up a significant segment of the overall vaping inventory and are preferred by novice users for their simplicity and ease of use.

Disposable vapes are available in both rechargeable and non-rechargeable varieties. The non-rechargeable disposable vapes are the simplest vapes available. They have a rudimentary design and are usable right out of the box until the battery or vape juice runs out. Rechargeable disposable vapes typically come with a decent vape juice capacity and offer more puffs over their lifetime than their non-rechargeable counterparts.

Pros

● Disposable vapes are more affordable compared to their complex alternatives.

● Easy to use.

● They typically have a small, sleek form making them easier to carry on your person.

● They offer easy, less committed entry into the vaping lifestyle, especially to individuals that are trying vaping to quit smoking.

● Switching between different brands and trying new ones is easy and financially comfortable.

Cons

● You can only experience a single flavor.

● They may prove costly in the long run.

● They can end unexpectedly, spoiling your vaping experience unless you are carrying an alternative.

Refillable Vape Pen

Refillable vape pens and other vaping devices like vape pods and vape mods have containers that can either be replaced by another e-juice container or be refilled with e-juice without needing to change the entire vape. These refillable vapes are a bit more sophisticated than their disposable counterparts and designed for durability and long-term use.

While they are classified as different vape devices compared to basic refillable vape pens, vape pods, and vape mods can be classified as refillable vapes because they allow you to refill the vape with e-juice.

Refillable vapes can be almost as easy to use as disposable vapes. An example would be vape pods that you can start or “switch on” simply by inhaling. However, refillable vapes like vape mods can be a bit more complicated to configure, use, and carry due to their bulk.

Pros

● Refillable vape pens (especially mods) offer you more control over the intensity of the flavor and density of the smoke cloud.

● Refillable vapes facilitate sub-ohm vaping (denser cloud, intense flavor) using refillable or disposable sub-ohm tanks.

● You only need to invest in the e-juice and do not have to buy the full vaping hardware every time.

● You can enjoy a wide range of flavors without replacing your vape.

● It’s a greener choice as you do not have to dispose of a battery-powered device every few days/weeks.

Cons

● It’s costlier to switch between different vape brands.

● Some refillable vapes can be bulky and difficult to carry, configure, and use discreetly.

CBD Vapes

Vapes designed to handle CBD vape oil, i.e., vape juice that contains different levels/potencies of CBD (a marijuana-derived substance), can be classified as CBD vapes. Even though it’s called CBD oil, it's not necessarily oil-based. They are available in both disposable and refillable variants. The differentiating factor is the vape's ability to handle CBD vape effectively, as it's significantly different from other commercially available e-juices/vape juices and has certain characteristic challenges.

Pros

● CBD vapes offer users a different way to benefit from CBD oil than ingesting it.

● It’s easier to track and control the amount of CBD content entering your body than the traditional practice of smoking marijuana.

● Experiencing CBD in a rich variety of flavors.

Cons

● Not enough traction and pushback from the medical community.

● A comparatively smaller range of refillable and disposable vapes are equipped for CBD-based vape juice.

Another type of vape that is slowly gaining traction in the global market is the water vape. It's similar to CBD vape because of the similar typification, as they are both differentiated based on the type of e-juice they are equipped to handle. The currently available water vape juice contains 30% water, improving the vapor quality and offering a health benefit. It helps to keep the dehydration associated with vaping at a minimum. It's a relatively new type of vape, so only a few models are available in the market, but it may change in the future.
